You know how much I love sports. I spent yesterday (Monday) trying to come up with something that would add value to your subscription and I’m sorry, I couldn’t make a Jimmy Garoppalo high ankle sprain measure up to the election.
If you know me - and I feel like all of you do - you know I have opinions. However, I also try to keep those opinions out of here, all the time. When I give you an opinion, I tell you and I make it clear. Politics? I try to steer clear of it even though it’s very important to me.
So today, I just want to say please vote. Vote. I don’t care if you vote for one guy or the other, one party or the other, but please vote your conscience, vote your heart, vote your head, vote for your son or daughter, or someone else’s. But vote. Don’t let someone else decide your future.
Tomorrow, we’ll get back to sports, I hope. I’ll steer clear of politics, I hope, and be able to talk baseball, then football, maybe some basketball or even soccer. In the end, sport and politics come together too many times. Look at Germany or England, where doing such a good job with COVID got them almost all the way back and now … well, we’ll see where this goes. I have a bad feeling that they’re a leading indicator.
(And German soccer is important to this newsletter … but no, I won’t explain that.)
Again, please vote.
And please understand why I couldn’t find anything to say beyond this, because there’s nothing more important. See you soon.
